Schnee, Schnee, Schnee

Yes! It's officially advent in Germany. Well it's now the 4th of December, so we've been in advent for a few days now. For the past week, Mainz has been a winter wonderland. And whilst there can be danger and peril in the snow (slippy slidy icy floor), it's just the most beautiful thing in the world. I fell in love with this country when I moved here, but the snow just gives it that something extra. Everything glistens, it's all shiny and pristine. Wünderbar.

That picture is the view from my bedroom. Nothing mindblowing, but I just like that picture alot. It's hit around -7 here so far (it could have been colder, who knows) and it's only just December, so I'm guessing that January and February could be even colder. I'm just making sure I'm all wrapped and warm and cosy so I don't turn to ice!

It's 19 days until I return to the UK for Christmas. I am excited to go back to Essex, but I don't really miss it much yet. Sure, there are some creature comforts at home that I love and my family and friends are there; but I haven't come on my year abroad to be pining after home! I'm here to enjoy myself, make the most of this amazing oppurtunity and live it well. Which is what I've been doing so far!
