MY THOUGHTS
I think if you know K-Pop, then you definately know the Wonder Girls. Even if you've only dabbled a little in K-Pop world, there's no doubt you've heard their MASSIVE hit "Nobody" which not only made them Korean music royalty but also secured them an American hit single - as with the English version of "Nobody", they were the first Korean act to ever chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

I'd always been aware of the Wonder Girls, but like SISTAR, I was never a huge fan. But rewind to the first time I saw their "Be My Baby" music video (see above), and I did a complete 180. You can now call me an official Wonder Girls fan.

Whereas I found "Nobody" rather bland in production and vocals, "Be My Baby" was the complete opposite - it was exciting and their vocals were fantastic. Whereas the video for "Nobody" was retro but old-fashioned, the video for "Be My Baby" was retro yet classy and with a modern twist. They really stepped up their game this time round.

Furthermore, hearing their latest album "Wonder World" for the first time reinforced my new found love for the Wonder Girls. It wasn't just 12 tracks of other "Be My Baby" rehashes, each track was different - even the remix of "Be My Baby" was completely different and bought a new side to the song. Tracks like "G.N.O.", "Sweet Dreams" and "Nu Shoes" are in a similar vein to "Be My Baby" - they're modern, energetic and fun. But songs like "Girls, Girls" show another side to the Wonder Girls, where they get the chance to show off their magnificant vocal abilities. There's a couple of rap tracks ("SuperB" and "Act Cool") and a couple of sweet ballads ("Dear Boy" and "두고두고"). But (along with "Be My Baby" itself), the real highlights are "Stop" and "Me, in". "Stop" is a confident song where the girls sing: "Please stop loving me". And "Me, in"? Well, that's a song that incorporates rock and dance into one and the girls' vocals once again shine on this record.

The Wonder Girls have confirmed that their already concluding their "Be My Baby" promotions and will be promoting further in China and the U.S. I'm excited that their continuing their projects overseas, but with their "Wonder World" album proving to be a huge hit, I'm eagerly awaiting their future Korean comeback.
