Rainbow are one of my favourite Korean girl bands. Their second mini album "SO女" is one of my favourite mini albums ever. They're one of the few girl groups who are insanely sexy yet still remain cute and stylish.
They're obviously a 7 member group - each member representing a colour of the rainbow - but they're about to split to a new 3 member group titled Rainbow Pixie - consisting of members Jisook, Seungah, and Hyunyoung. But seriously .... Rainbow Pixie? The cutest name for a girl group EVER ?
Rainbow Pixie will releasing their single "Hoi Hoi" on January 11th. And I'm excited to hear what they'll have to offer. As most sub-unit groups, they'll probably promote for a month before returning to their main group.
I think their teaser video is really good. It's cute and fluffy - what you'd expect if you ever heard the words Rainbow and Pixie together. But with the neon scenes and their burlesque teaser photo (see above), it looks like it won't be TOO sweet and sugary. I hope not anyway, I love Rainbow for their fierceness and sexiness ;)
Rainbow is a really exciting group and I think 2012 will be their best year so far. Woori is currently starring in Invincible Youth (one of my favourite stars on the show, too), they've already had two top 10 singles in Japan (and more to follow) and now with this special sub-unit group, it's already gearing up to be a great year for Rainbow.
